I'm pumped - too bad the bathroom is going to be a PITA to paint - even the CEILING has to be painted. It looks like a dungeon in there now. Hopefully, with a little cost-friendly facelift, it'll look charming.

Repurpose
This beauty of a cabinet used to look lovely in the bathroom of our condo. When we moved into our house, I couldn't find the right place for it, so it has been looking pretty inside a closet in the basement. Thank goodness for Blake's office. I'm going to clean it up and put it in the bathroom! We actually have some unsightly plumbing that cannot be removed, {some genius thought it would be a good idea to have a urinal in there, the urinal was removed, probably with the person who wanted it, but all of the piping remained. We were able to cover up most of it, but the main water line is still there} so, our little cabinet is going to sit in front of it. It couldn't be more perfect as we'll need a small storage space anyway, and most of the decor in the bathroom will already be white.

Alphabet Book - complete!
I ran out of time to post letter by letter here. Instead, I'm sharing the whole book. We had it sitting out as a guest book at Isaac's party for people to sign. I had his guests write birthday messages to him. There are some people who didn't sign it {ahem, Grandpa}, so we'll be tracking him down for a little message later . It turned out really cute, I'm so pleased. Isaac loves it too - he laughs whenever we read it!

Walls
You know, it's really amazing how fast contractors, and the guys that work for them, can put something like this together. They did all of this in one day! It's nothing fancy yet, but you can see the skeleton of what the office will look like {hopefully very soon!}.

While the contractors were busy doing that, we were busy finalizing purchases for the x-ray, adjusting tables, computers, etc. Spending this much money makes me nervous! I'd probably feel better if I could find a 20% off your x-ray coupon. That being said, I did get an additional $30 off of the computers on top of all the instant rebates, so I shouldn't feel bad, right?

All in a day's work
Here's what the office looked like yesterday morning:

And here's what it looks like now:

Looks like the framing for our walls will start to go up tomorrow {Isaac did a quality check of the lumber!}. This is moving right along - we had to choose trim today. I wanted to poll the trim color again, but time won't allow. We were going between white trim or more of an oak colored trim. We opted for the oak {actually, the color is pecan} because it will look better with the carpet and paint colors combined.

Ow....
We spent a good part of today ripping out carpet, tearing down wall paper, and removing trim, with my Dad's help, and my mom keeping an eye on the little guy. We could have had our contractor do it, but we're trying to save $$ wherever possible. The result - we are SO sore - and there is still some carpet to remove tomorrow {just a little patch, but enough to make us cringe!}. Some before and during shots:

Paint
Since our contractor is going to start with the build-out next week, Blake and I thought it wise to pick out the carpet. Work has also started on the custom receptionist desk.
Here is our carpet - the base color is sort of a dark gray:

Here is our carpet again, with an oak color swatch laid on it {our reception desk will be oak - it's going to look sa-weet!}. On top of the oak swatch is the actual color of the counters of the reception desk:

With all of this in mind, we need your help, dear readers, with paint colors. Our top three choices are shown below. If you don't like any of them, please let us know why and what other colors you might suggest. Otherwise, voting on the poll in the right hand column of my blog would be appreciated! Please note that all colors on these palettes will be used somewhere in the office. The blues are going in Blake's office and the bathroom. Others will be divvied up between adjusting room, therapy, waiting room, etc. Thanks in advance for your advice and opinion! :)

Alphabet book
I'm working on this project to give to Isaac when he turns one. Basically, I take pictures with Isaac in them that take him through the alphabet. I've only just finished letter 'B' but am looking forward to the rest of the book. You can help me out by throwing out your ideas for letters. I'm really hoping to turn this into an adventure. I want to make 'C' a cow, so we're going to capture some shots of that next time we are visiting the farm. Last time Isaac met a cow {calf, really}, he was frightened by its tongue.
Here's my progress so far:

And this is the rough draft of what I have in mind for all of the other letters. I'm open to suggestions. Help a girl out:
D = Daddy or Dog
E = Eat or Eiffel Tower {I want to use the picture of Isaac and me in front of the Eiffel Tower, but am wondering if I should put that under P for Paris? England and France?
F =
G = Grandma and Grandpa or Grass
H = Happy, Hands
I =
J = Jumper
K = Kiss
L = London {I'm putting the picture of Isaac and me in front of Tower Bridge here}
M = Mommy
N = Newborn
O =
P = Pool, Papa Jerry, Pacifier
Q =
R = Reading
S = Sophie, Sophie le Giraffe, Sling, Swing, Stroller
T = Tongue
U = Ultrasound, umbrella
V =
W =
X =
Y =
Z = Zoo {If I make it to one!}, or Zzzzzzz {for sleep?}
