LOL

I wouldn't want to have a picture taken of me in the bath either!

Whirlwind

It was a crazy holiday filled with church {three times for me!}, family, good food, presents, and MarioKart Wii {too bad I suck...}. It was a great way to celebrate Isaac's first Christmas! Some highlights:

Playing Baby Jesus {again}.
This was before the lamb's head fell off... no wonder he looks scared!
Looking at some of his cool gifts!
I think I'm putting this picture in his "My First Christmas" ornament.
Santa was good to him! :)

Merry Christmas!

From our family to yours, Merry Christmas! We're excited about celebrating it with our family, and especially our little man. As you can see, he's very much into the holiday spirit! ;-)

We've got a lot going on between now and Christmas, so don't expect to see me much until after the holiday. :) Hope you all have a very safe and blessed holiday season.

Ouch

The dermatologist decided to cut off Isaac's mole and have it biopsied. He's 99% sure there is nothing wrong with it, but wants to be 100% positive. There were two ouch's yesterday:

1. Isaac screaming as they gave him a shot of Novocain, and while we held him down so Dr. could cut off the mole.

2. Mommy, watching and listening to her little boy scream. :(

He doesn't really notice the scab on his foot now, but I have to apply Neosporin to it multiple times a day. Let's hope it heals up quickly!

MOLEY MOLEY MOLEY

Isaac developed a mole on the sole of his right foot {and a light one on his knee} after he was born. According to the Doctor at his two month check-up, a mole on the sole of a baby's foot that develops after birth can be "concerning." We now have an appointment with a dermatologist on Wednesday morning. She wouldn't say what was concerning, but did say that they may want to remove it, which means more pain for our little guy! It was bad enough watching him get shots! When that mole popped up, I thought it was a just a birth mark...I hope it is nothing more. Plus, I think Isaac wears it with style. :) Here's hoping for a good appointment on Wednesday.

Sick

I'm sick with something. I haven't had a fever in ages, but spiked one Sunday night. I'm feeling a little better today thanks in part to this handsome face:

His 2 month stats from his appointment on 12/11: 12 lb, 6 oz (50%) and 25 inches long (95%). We've got a tall, skinny, and VERY handsome little kid on our hands. :)

Baby Jesus

Isaac made his stage debut as Baby Jesus in tonight's Living Nativity. I was worried about how he would behave, but he did really well! He even made the news {if they put it up on the web-site, I'll post a link to the clip!}.

A few highlights:

Verdict

The chocolate cookie bark {recipe here} is DELICIOUS, and super easy to make. But, since I couldn't find any white chocolate, I cheated and used white almond bark since I already had a ton of it at home. It still tastes yummy! :) I love all these Christmas season goodies.

Here's a peek at my finished product.

Two months

I can't believe that my baby is two months old today. He is cooing, smiling, and really into observing everything. He still fights sleep during the day and refuses to sleep in his crib {whenever I put him down in there, he wakes up and starts cooing! But, we're making slow progress}. He is still usually up every three hours during the night, he loooves his swing {or anything that keeps him in motion}, and enjoys reading books with us {his new favorite is "Noah's Crew Came Two by Two"}.
We love him so much. I can't believe how much he has grown in two months. While I look forward to the future with him, part of me misses his newborn-ness. He's growing up too fast.

Bumbo

Now that Isaac is getting the hang of holding his own head up, we've been testing out his skills in his Bumbo chair. He starts out pretty good, but after a few minutes it's obvious he still has some more practicing to do. Here's proof of his falling head:

Holy Moly

I'm SO making this! YUM YUM YUM!!

And just in case the link doesn't work:

Chocolate Cookie Bark

2 Tbsp. peanut butter
1 pkg. (6 squares) BAKER'S White Chocolate, melted
10 OREO Cookies, crumbled, divided
1 pkg. (8 squares) BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate, melted

ADD peanut butter to white chocolate; stir until well blended. Stir 1/2 the cookies into each bowl of chocolate.

DROP spoonfuls of the chocolate mixtures onto waxed paper-covered baking sheet, alternating colors of chocolates. Swirl with kife.

REFRIGERATE 1 hour or until firm. Break into pieces.

Back to work

I cried when I left Isaac yesterday to go back to work. I've learned so much from him in 8 weeks {yes, he's 8 weeks old today!}. Example: Yawning as seen below is a HUGE sleepy cue for babies {and perhaps adults?}. Usually he will yawn and then stare at me, as if asking me to rock him to sleep. How I wish I didn't have to work. :(
