After tonight's encore performance of "The Wizard of Oz," I have to say it's a bit bittersweet. It's nice to be a part of such a production, especially when it is well-liked by the community, but I'd be lying if I didn't say I am really excited about getting my life back. I especially can't wait to go back to planning dinners with Blake, and knowing that I'll actually be home to make them!
Anyway, our entire family made it out at some point to see the show {you can see a video clip on Jennifer's blog here}. Mom went three nights in a row, and I couldn't help but adore how cute mom and dad were yesterday watching the matinee. I love picking out my dad's laugh in a crowd and mom brought me muffins! She snuck them into the show in her purse, and then, with her devious little laugh, dished them out to me at intermission. LOL. And Ben....wonderful, wonderful job. I know I've told you this after every performance, but we're so proud of you!
Here's a pic of all of us sibs + one in-law at the Saturday evening performance:

Sneak Peek
If you remember me talking about this in November {and more recently}, you'll be happy to know that it is now show week, and I'm giving you a little sneak peek. We had two shows today for the school kids and for the senior citizens, and the official run begins tomorrow night. I hope you're coming to see it!
Check out the sweet monkey costume...I seriously want one!

Life is great
Blake and I couldn't be happier! Here's the very first peek at our happy news:
And, 3 months later, look at how our little one is growing! I still can't believe that this little miracle has taken up residence inside me. Truthfully, I knew I was pregnant all the while, but after hearing the heartbeat and then having the ultrasound (I was measuring large, so Dr. ordered one to rule out twins!), I'm so in love and can't wait to meet this little person!
P.S. You have no idea how hard it was for me to keep from posting this on my blog for three months!

You're probably wondering
Where I've been....I can sum it up in two words: Holy Week.
Since I work for a church, Holy Week pretty much means a time of hibernation for me, especially starting tomorrow. So never fear. I have not forgotten my blog. I've simply been too busy to tend to it. I will return soon!

2 weeks
In 2 weeks, we'll be halfway through the performances of the Wizard of Oz. While there have been some setbacks because of the unfortunate winter weather, everything seems to be coming together now. There are some parts that I don't think will be their best come show time, but they will, by no means, ruin the show.
I'm probably most excited about the special effects and the costumes! Among my favorites: the flying monkeys {I love this one so much that I want one!}, the poppies, Glinda, and this one:
Thanks to many hours of work from a local hardware guy, and my parents, the Tin Man suit is going to be sweet! Seriously, my Dad has spent hours sizing it to my brother, and cutting the flexible parts to fit accordingly, as well as outfitting it with straps to hold everything up and adding rivets. Mom went shopping for some silver underclothes {not worn in the picture} for Ben, spray painted his shoes, hat, socks, and gloves, and she custom made the collar on his shirt. Neat, huh?
If you're interested in tickets, they are selling fast. The show runs from March 27-29 with shows at 7:30 p.m., and a 3:00 p.m. show on March 30. Currently there are only about 160 tickets left, so we're looking at adding an encore show on Monday the 31st. Details on that later. :)

The new, new look
Have you noticed my new, non-dotty header? Many thanks to my sister, Jennifer, for the clean new look. After telling me she was headed to bed this evening, she instead decided to fix my header. Hey, less work for me, and it looks great! :) Thank you, thank you, thank you!
So you can see the difference, here is a before and after shot {click the pictures for a larger view of the dottiness!}:

Man Room
I mentioned the MAN ROOM in a previous post and wanted to give you all a little sneak peek of the area! {Also per request of loyal reader, Brian} :)
Man room = the one area in our basement that is not finished, and is therefore Blake's room to do as he pleases. Eventually we plan on studding it out and adding drywall. Thanks to help from my Dad, the room already has some plug-ins so that Blake can listen to his music instead of blaring it across the entire basement!
So far, the man room has:
1. a bunch of loose, extra pieces of carpet
2. A Bowflex
3. A practice golf putting area
4. Mini dart board
5. Furnace
6. Water heater
7. Nebraska Huskers flag
8. Stereo
9. Boxes...still unpacked
10. Some of Blake's Dallas Cowboys paraphernalia
11. Other random wall pieces not yet hung up

New Look
On a whim, I decided to change my blog look. I found, via this blog, free blog headers for download {here}. I simply found one I liked, added text over it in Microsoft Publisher, saved it as an image, and uploaded it to my blog.
It was sure a lot easier than the process Jennifer took to achieve her new blog look. Then again, at least hers is an original. I'm sure some other blogger out there has the same header as me. But hey, it was fast, easy, and it works. :)

I want to meet an Olympian!
My parents met 2000 Olympic Gold Medalist Rulon Gardner today. So jealous! I just want to meet one....anyone! Most of all, I want to meet Michelle Kwan. I still think she deserved gold in Nagano. :) Rulon looks like such a big teddy bear. Aw!!

Updates
I can't believe how quickly time flies....a few quick updates:
1. The Wizard of Oz opens on March 27 and ends its run in a matinée performance on March 30. If you have nothing to do come see it! If nothing else, I will tell you that I can't wait for it to end. Since the weather has caused many canceled rehearsals, we are rehearsing everyday of the week but Saturday. Woo.
2. Blake will start working just as soon as his official Dr. license comes in the mail. I wish that little piece of paper would hurry up!
3. We bought a guest bed! Denver Mattress, Queen size, $315 total. Not bad eh? Now we have more than a double-flocked air bed to offer to our visitors!
4. Remember those stools? We still have had no luck in our search...then again, I haven't really had much time to search.
5. My itchy skin is slowly going away. I have taken to putting lotion on every last inch of me before I crawl into bed at night {with Blake's help of course!} *wink wink* Thanks for the suggestions!
6. My cousin Nickle Pickle was home from Boston last weekend. He will finish culinary school in June and then continue to work in Boston. He made a lovely meal for us while he was home. Really, we're spoiled with him in the family. He's going to make a fantastic chef! Anyone up for a trip to Boston in a few years? :)
7. Blake has been begging me for another dog or a larger fish tank.....I've talked him down to a smaller fish tank in his "man room" {when you visit our house, we will show you the "man room"}, but I'm not sure where I am with the dog idea. The answer will probably come once he starts working. I think he's just bored right now, sitting around and waiting for his license, so he fills his head with all of these fancy ideas.
8. Is it spring yet?

ABC's
Seriously, how cute is this?
I missed her singing the A & B of her alphabet, but it never ceases to amaze me how quickly she is growing up. Her new favorite saying is, "I said, I pooped in my undies!!!!" I don't know why she enjoys that phrase, but she said it at least a million times today. :)
